A property drain, also known as a house drain, is the pipeline that connects your property to the Council's stormwater pipeline. Roads and stormwater drains are designed to remove excess water; however, when there is heavy rain, the stormwater doesn't always cope, and flooding can occur.

Drainage issues under Council's responsibility

Wyndham City is responsible for road maintenance issues and road closures in the event of flooding or water over the road under Council's jurisdiction. Check if the road is a VicRoads Road or a council-owned road before logging a request.

Drainage issues not under Council's responsibility

Council does not have information about the private stormwater pipelines around the perimeter of dwellings/buildings. Property owners requiring the alignment of private pipelines on their property, contact the relevant authorities to assist with your request.

Raise a request

Before submitting the request, make sure the drainage is Council's responsibility and the flooding persists after 24 hours. The stormwater is designed to drain the excess water but this can take some time.
When submitting a request, provide as much detail as possible so we can assist you in processing your request. If possible, attach a photo of the issue you are reporting.
