Truck Permits and Illegally Parked Trucks
Vehicles with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) exceeding 4.5 tonnes or a length over 7.5 meters are not permitted to park on roads in built-up areas for more than 1 hour. This rule applies to residential, commercial, and industrial areas. Vehicles under this size and weight have the same parking rights as passenger vehicles.
Trucks illegally parked on residential land
Before reporting an illegally parked truck, please ensure that the truck is:
- Parked on Council land or public road
- Over 7.5m in length or over 4.5 tonnes
- The vehicle is not actively picking up or dropping off goods.

Under Section 45 of the new local law, Council can take infringement action on trucks illegally parked on a driveway. Before reporting an illegally parked truck, please ensure that the truck is:
- Parked on a driveway
- The vehicle is not actively picking up or dropping off goods.
Trucks illegally parked in industrial areas
In the City of Wyndham, specific regulations govern where trucks can and cannot park to ensure community safety and amenity.

Heavy vehicles are unable to park on vacant land. Council will investigate trucks being kept or stored on vacant land. Before reporting an illegally parked truck, please ensure that the truck is:

When submitting a request, provide as much detail as possible so we can assist you in processing your request. If possible, attach a photo of the issue you are reporting. Once reported, Council will attend and inspect. If the vehicle is deemed illegally parked, a warning or an infringement notice can be issued to the offending owner.
