Wyndham Council offers free sharps containers to residents and charges businesses $25 per container. Each syringe container has a capacity of 1.4L or 3 litres.

Urgent requests

Syringes on public land are considered urgent. Please contact Wyndham City on 1300 023 411 to report your request.

How to obtain a new syringe container

Payment options accepted include cash, cheque, debit and credit cards (for businesses collecting a syringe container)

Residents can dispose of syringe containers for free in a secure bin located near the functions room car park:
Civic Centre at 45 Princes Highway, Werribee
The syringe bin at the Civic Centre is emptied every Wednesday and Friday.

Syringe or other drug paraphernalia on private property

A discarded needle or syringe on private property is the owner or occupant's responsibility to arrange collection and disposal.
Contact the Victorian Syringe Disposal Helpline on 1800 552 355 (free call, 24/7).
Information will be given on how to safely collect and dispose of syringes.

How do businesses dispose of a syringe?

Businesses such as acupuncturists, doctors, and hairdressers using sharps for procedures or services must arrange for a medical waste disposal contractor to collect used sharps.
