A speed hump is a traffic calming device used to slow down vehicles on roads, particularly in residential areas or near schools and parks where pedestrian safety is a concern.
Speed treatments may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Traffic signals
  • Roundabouts
  • Road humps
  • Signs
  • Line marking
  • Lighting
  • Central islands
  • Speed trailer
  • Speed detection devices

Raise a request

Once submitted, Traffic Engineers will:
  • Organise a contractor to conduct a 24-hour traffic survey in the area.
  • Collect data on the volume of traffic and the highest speed (if necessary, notify the police).
  • If the speed hump is considered appropriate, the street will be added to Wyndham's City Annual Capital Works Program.
