Nature Strip Maintenance
A nature strip is the area of public land between the property boundary and the back of the kerb, excluding any public pavement. It is the responsibility of the resident to maintain their property nature strip.
Maintenance responsibilities
Keep the nature strip well-maintained and safe at all times:
- Ensure plants are pruned to a height of no more than 500mm (excluding street trees).
- Grass or weeds should not exceed 30cm in height.
- Keep the nature strip free of weeds and rubbish.
- Prevent mulch from spreading onto footpaths, driveways, or into the kerb and channel.
- Ensure the mulch level does not exceed the height of the footpath or kerb.
- Remove any tripping hazards or protruding objects.
- If the area with overgrown or damaged nature strips hasn't been handed over to the Council, it is the developers' responsibility to fix or maintain it.
Damage to nature strips
If you notice a cracked surface or any other issues with the nature strip, submit a damaged nature strip request below.
