A vehicle will be considered abandoned if:
  • It is unregistered. You can check if a vehicle is registered on the VicRoads website. This will show if the vehicle is unregistered or stolen.
  • Registered but has not moved in more than 2 months.

Reports we cannot investigate

Please get in touch with the appropriate authority if the vehicle is:

Illegal parking

If the vehicle being reported is illegally parked, please proceed with an Illegal Parking request instead.

Raise a request

When submitting a request, provide as much detail as possible so we can assist you in processing your request. If possible, attach a photo of the issue you are reporting.
We'll investigate within ten business days. If a vehicle is unregistered or abandoned, we'll place a sticker on it with advice for the owner to move the vehicle within a set time.
